What differentiates management from leadership varies across organisations and often within them. Whether we use transactional, transformational, or some other model of leadership to drive behaviour’s is at the heart of defining organisational cultures, central to change processes and critical to high performance. This module is about understanding the models available, when and which contexts they work best and making such judgements by pulling knowledge about, for example, how structures and motivational needs exist within the company. Leadership is so central to the the talent model because, as knowledge is increasingly the source of competitive advantage, this is where critical thinking becomes action.
