Models for managing people 1
A safari through how the management of people, as a business resource, has changed. From personnel, through human resources, human capital to talent management and strategic HRM, the module covers the influence of key people, such as F.W. Taylor, to debates about changes of job titles versus changes of substance and the key trends that have affected the practice of people management. The module uses a historical tour to explore the tensions and contradictions that lie at the heart of managing people. Participants will also learn about many of the big ideas that have altered the course of the profession.
