The continuing importance of teams requires people managers to understand why they matter, how they function and how they can be more effective. Core areas covered include the promise of teams, communication in teams, leadership and decision-making, responsibility and behaviour. It will draw upon key thinkers and models from Tuckman through to application of the 80/20 principle across business units. As such it is highly linked to organisational models such as TQM and HCM and provides much of the bedrock for contemporary ebates within talent and SHRM.
The module mixes core knowledge with case studies and use of experiential tasks that would typically be used during team-building events to deliver understanding that is immediately applicable, impactful and shows how to bring the knowledge to life.
